All over the world, millions of people are facing huge challenges brought on by the rapid spread of coronavirus. Many of us, now confined to our homes, have become reliant on the internet in order to keep in touch with family, friends, and colleagues.
I cried yesterday when the police came to our residential area, instructing us not to leave our homes. It means the situation has worsened.
I am scared for my children, husband, and family. Oh Lord, remove this scourge from us.
Miracle Connect seeks to use this time of even greater reliance on social media and television to engage in a deeper way with our current Arabic-speaking audience.
We also hope to attract new viewers from across the Middle East and North Africa.
First and foremost, we want people to know they can talk to us any time. We’ll be telling them that God cares for them, sees their situation, and remains in control.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll launch some new programs that directly address people’s anxieties and concerns. These include uncertainty, food shortages, illness, death, job loss, financial hardship, loneliness, and isolation. Many of our existing contacts are already struggling with mental health, so we’ll be addressing their needs too.
We believe these programs will prompt many individuals to contact our follow-up team – and thus hear about the hope that can only be found in Christ. We pray they will experience ‘the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.’ (Phil 4:7, ESV)
